| Project Description | The project is a refit and reuse of an existing 15-year-old Women's Correctional Facility that will be converted into a Youth Custody and Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services Facility. The existing campus of 3 buildings was decanted in April 2004 and has remained vacant. The buildings have a gross area of 14,445 sm (155,490 sf) and are 2-storey with the Resident Living Units containing a Bedroom Mezzanine. The campus is on a 7.3-hectare suburban site in southern Burnaby, BC.
The scope of the renovation work includes:
-The reorganization and conversion of existing program area, involving minor demolition and repartitioning.
-Repairing, replacing or upgrading the existing domestic hot water systems, mechanical & electrical systems, interior finishes, exterior windows, doors, cladding and roof as necessary.
