Some of this project's green features include:
• Optimizing energy cost performance of 42% better than the Model National Energy Code for Buildings, with an energy consumption savings of 41% through: high efficiency modulating gas boiler; radiant heating panels; energy efficient double-glazed windows with low-e coatings, argon filled space, and thermally broken aluminum frames; and, daylighting and occupancy sensors;
• Reducing indoor potable water use by over 59% with dual-flush toilets, waterless urinals, low-flow lavatories, and reuse of the university’s aquatics facility’s water;
• A multi storey atrium including a living wall; and,
• A vegetated green roof.
